This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position which is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (NATSILS) is the national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services. We advocate for justice, equality, and the rights of our peoples, supporting culturally safe legal services and driving national reforms to close the gap in justice outcomes.
  
Your Impact

As a valued member of NATSILS, you’ll play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the Sector Strengthening Plan, enhancing the capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled law and justice services and aligning initiatives with national justice agreements and partnerships. Each day, you will:

  • Conduct policy research, analysis, and reporting to support the development and delivery of the Sector Strengthening Plan (SSP).
  • Coordinate consultations and stakeholder engagement with ATSILS, community-controlled organisations, and government partners.
  • Support initiatives to expand culturally safe, mob-led legal services, including designing and evaluating pilot programs.
  • Develop and maintain project management, monitoring, and evaluation tools to track SSP progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing materials, and policy submissions to inform decision-making.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for workshops, meetings, and sector-strengthening activities, ensuring compliance with NATSILS/ALS policies.
